How to Reach
- Prayagraj has its own domestic airport (Bamrauli Airport), which is connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and other major cities. The airport is located about 12 km from the city. Additionally, Lucknow and Varanasi airports are also the nearest options. Taxi and bus facilities are easily available from the airport to the city.
- Prayagraj is well connected by national highways. Direct bus and taxi services are available from cities like Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur and Patna. Regular buses of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) connect Prayagraj to major cities of the state. Travel is made easy through Yamuna Expressway and NH-19.
- Prayagraj Junction (formerly Allahabad Junction) is one of the major railway stations in India. Trains are available from here to almost every part of the country. Sub-stations like Prayagraj Chheoki, Prayagraj Rambagh and Prayagraj Sangam are also located in the city. Taxis, autos and e-rickshaws are easily available from the station to the main tourist spots in the city.

Triveni Sangam
The most sacred place in Prayagraj is Triveni Sangam, where the rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati meet. Bathing here is believed to liberate one from sins and attain salvation. Allahabad Fort

Magh Mela (Magh Snan Parv)
Magh Mela is the most ancient and huge religious festival of Prayagraj, which starts from Makar Sankranti and continues for the entire month of Magh. During this, lakhs of devotees take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. It is believed that by bathing in the Sangam in the month of Magh, all sins are washed away and salvation is attained. Devotees doing Kalpavas stay on the banks of the Sangam for the entire month and do penance, meditation and worship. This fair is full of spirituality, sadhana and sermons of saints.

Kumbh Mela
Kumbh Mela is held in Prayagraj every 12 years and is considered to be the largest religious fair in the world. Its origin is associated with the story of Samudra Manthan, when a few drops of Amrit Kalash fell in Prayagraj. That is why Kumbh bath is considered sacred here. Sadhus, saints, Naga Babas and lakhs of devotees take Sangam bath. The procession of Akharas, religious discourses, and cultural events make this festival special.

Ganga Dussehra
Ganga Dussehra is celebrated on the tenth day of Jyeshtha month, when Goddess Ganga descended on earth. On this day in Prayagraj, devotees earn merit by bathing in Sangam. Ganga ghats are decorated and the tradition of Deepdaan is performed. It is believed that bathing in Ganga on this day destroys ten types of sins. Basant Panchami
Basant Panchami is the festival of worship of Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and it has special significance in Prayagraj. It is celebrated on the fifth day of Magh month.
