Triveni Sangam

Magh Mela (Magh Snan Parv)

Magh Mela is the most ancient and huge religious festival of Prayagraj, which starts from Makar Sankranti and continues for the entire month of Magh. During this, lakhs of devotees take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. It is believed that by bathing in the Sangam in the month of Magh, all sins are washed away and salvation is attained. Devotees doing Kalpavas stay on the banks of the Sangam for the entire month and do penance, meditation and worship. This fair is full of spirituality, sadhana and sermons of saints.

Kumbh Mela

Kumbh Mela is held in Prayagraj every 12 years and is considered to be the largest religious fair in the world. Its origin is associated with the story of Samudra Manthan, when a few drops of Amrit Kalash fell in Prayagraj. That is why Kumbh bath is considered sacred here. Sadhus, saints, Naga Babas and lakhs of devotees take Sangam bath. The procession of Akharas, religious discourses, and cultural events make this festival special.

Ganga Dussehra

Ganga Dussehra is celebrated on the tenth day of Jyeshtha month, when Goddess Ganga descended on earth. On this day in Prayagraj, devotees earn merit by bathing in Sangam. Ganga ghats are decorated and the tradition of Deepdaan is performed. It is believed that bathing in Ganga on this day destroys ten types of sins. Basant Panchami
