How to reach Rohtang

Fly into Bhuntar Airport (Kullu-Manali, 50 km from Manali), with flights from Delhi, Chandigarh, or Mumbai. From there, hire a taxi (?2,000-3,000) for the 2-hour drive to Manali, then proceed to Rohtang. Scenic aerial views en route; avoid monsoons for clear landings.

From Manali, take the winding Manali-Leh Highway in a sturdy SUV or taxi (?1,500-2,500 round trip). The 2-hour ascent passes pine forests and gushing streams. Self-drive possible with permit; buses from Manali's Mall Road run daily. Atal Tunnel bypasses the pass for quicker Lahaul access.

Nearest station is Chandigarh (250 km away), connected by trains from Delhi (Shatabdi Express, 3-4 hours). From Chandigarh, bus or cab to Manali (8-10 hours), then local taxi to Rohtang. Pathankot (200 km) offers another rail option via Jammu Mail.
