How to reach Dharamshala

Gaggal Airport (DHM), 13 km from McLeod Ganj. Daily flights from Delhi (1 hr) on SpiceJet/Air India. Taxis ?500-800 to town. Book early; flights are few and fill fast.

Overnight HRTC/Himachal Volvo from Delhi (?1300-1600) or Chandigarh (?700). Private cabs ?9000-12000 from Delhi. The 10-12 hr journey through Punjab fields and sudden mountain climbs is half the adventure.

Pathankot (90 km) or Pathankot Cantt is the nearest broad-gauge station. Taxis ?2500-3500 or shared jeeps. Narrow-gauge toy train to Kangra (slow, scenic, romantic). Many prefer the bus for convenience.
