How to reach Hampi

Fly to Hubli (160 km) or Belgaum (200 km) - both have daily flights from Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai. From the airport, pre-paid taxi or KSRTC bus to Hospet (3-4 hrs), then local bus/auto to Hampi. Bengaluru to Hampi overnight sleeper bus is usually easier.

Excellent overnight luxury sleeper buses from Bengaluru (7-8 hrs), Goa (8 hrs), Hyderabad (9 hrs). KSRTC and private Volvos run frequently. Self-drive via Chitradurga is scenic - smooth highways, sudden boulder hills, and the smell of eucalyptus the last hour.

Hospet Junction (13 km) is the railhead. Overnight Hampi Express from Bengaluru (daily), Amaravati Express from Goa, several trains from Hyderabad. Auto-rickshaw ?250-350 or bus ?20 from Hospet station to Hampi bazaar.
