How to reach Hassan

Nearest useful airport is Bengaluru (BLR, 200 km) with flights from everywhere. Mangaluru (IXE, 170 km) works if you’re coming from the coast. From either, pre-book a cab (?3500-4500) or take airport Volvo to Hassan (4-5 hrs).

NH75 is a dream - four-lane all the way from Bengaluru. KSRTC Airavat Volvos every 30 mins (?400-700). Private cabs ?4000-5000. Self-drive takes 3.5 hrs from Bengaluru; coffee estates start after Nelamangala.

Hassan Junction is on the Mysuru-Mangaluru line. Overnight trains from Bengaluru (Kannada Express, 8 pm-6 am), direct trains from Mysuru, Mangaluru, Hubli. Clean station, autos waiting outside (?150 to town).
