How to reach Khajuraho

Khajuraho Airport (5 km from temples) has daily flights from Delhi (1 hr 15 min) and Varanasi (50 min) on IndiGo and Air India. Taxis ?300-?400 to town. Seasonal flights from Mumbai. Clean, tiny airport; you’re at your hotel ten minutes after landing.

Smooth NH39 connects Khajuraho to Jhansi (175 km, 4 hrs) and Satna (120 km). MP Tourism and private AC buses run overnight from Bhopal, Indore and Gwalior. Self-drive through teak forests and small villages is beautiful and safe.

Khajuraho Railway Station (9 km) has three excellent trains: Hazrat Nizamuddin-Khajuraho Uttar Pradesh Sampark Kranti (daily except Sunday), Kurukshetra-Udaipur Express, and the new Vande Bharat from Delhi (6 hrs). Auto ?200 to town
