Diwali
On Deepawali, every street and locality in Lucknow is decorated with lamps and colorful lights. Special decorations are done in temples, houses and markets. Diwali has special significance due to its proximity to Ayodhya.
Eid
Special markets are set up in Lucknow on Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha. Namaz is offered in mosques and people distribute sweets to each other. There is a lot of shopping of chikankari clothes.
