Mandawa

Fly into Jaipur (Sanganer Airport), 190 km away, flights from everywhere in India. From there, hire a taxi (?3000-4000) or hop on a luxury coach. Direct flights to tiny Shekhawati airstrips are rare. Most people treat Jaipur as the gateway and enjoy the scenic desert drive in.

The drive from Jaipur or Delhi is pure pleasure on wide highways flanked by khejri trees and sudden bursts of mustard fields. Yamuna-red sunsets, roadside chai with bajra roti, and zero traffic after Sikar. Rent a car, take a Rajasthan Tourism coach, or join a heritage tour, roads are excellent.

No station in Mandawa itself. Closest major stations: Jhunjhunu (28 km) or Mukundgarh (15 km) on the Delhi-Bikaner route. A few slow passenger trains stop. From Delhi, take the early morning Dee Bkn SF Express to Jhunjhunu, then a quick auto or cab into town.
