How to reach Jawai
Fly into Udaipur (Dabok, 150 km) or Jodhpur (170 km). Both have daily flights from Delhi, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad. Camps send Boleros or Innovas to fetch you (?4000-5500 one way). The drive itself is half the adventure; hills start appearing after Ranakpur.
Smooth state highways all the way. From Udaipur via Ranakpur (gorgeous Jain temples en route), from Jodhpur via Pali. Self-driving is easy and beautiful, sudden leopard-crossing signs keep you awake. Most luxury camps include transfers if you’re staying with them.
Jawai Bandh station is literally in the middle of leopard territory. Trains from Delhi (Ranikhet Exp, Aravali Exp), Mumbai (BDTS-JAT), Ahmedabad, and Jodhpur stop here. Step off the train and your camp jeep is usually waiting on the platform.
