How to reach Ladakh

Daily flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Srinagar to Leh’s Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport (world’s most dramatic landing). ?5,000-12,000 one way. Book early, weather cancellations happen. Direct flights save two days of road sickness and let you wake up already on the roof.

Two legendary routes: Srinagar-Leh (434 km, 2 days), greener, easier; Manali-Leh (473 km, 2 days) wilder, higher passes (including 5,360 m Tanglang La). Shared taxis, buses, self-drive bikes. June-Sept only. The journey itself is half the Ladakh addiction.

Nearest railhead now at Kargil (Bilaspur-Leh line under construction). From anywhere in India, reach Jammu or Chandigarh, then overnight bus/taxi to Kargil (12-18 hrs), next morning to Leh (7 hrs). Long but cheapest.
