Makar Sankranti Lohri
Bonfires on every chowk, sesame-jaggery sweets, kite flying from rooftops. Locals welcome strangers to their fires.
Basant Panchami
Yellow is everywhere - marigolds, turbans, sweets. Special pujas at Panchvaktra temple, start of the trekking season.
Diwali & Bhai Dooj
The entire town is lit with diyas along the river. Sisters tie threads on brothers’ wrists at Triloknath temple; the atmosphere is gentle and deeply family.
