How to reach Rishikesh

Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (20 km) has daily flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore. Pre-paid taxis (?600-900) or shared cabs (?200) drop you at Ram Jhula in 35-40 minutes. Best option if you hate long road journeys.

Smooth NH34 all the way from Delhi (5-6 hrs). Luxury Volvos, Uttarakhand Roadways buses every hour from ISBT Kashmere Gate (?350-?800). Self-drive through Rajaji National Park is gorgeous,elephants often cross the road at dawn.

Direct trains: Yog Nagari Rishikesh station is the terminus. Jan Shatabdi (4.5 hrs from Delhi), Vande Bharat, and overnight Mussoorie Express are comfortable. Haridwar (25 km) has more trains,frequent shared vikrams to Rishikesh in 45 mins.
